29 September 2008 - Amman, Jordan - An IAAF delegation headed by Vice-President Dahlan Al Hamad, Organisational Delegate, and Cross Country Committee Chairman Otto Klappert, Technical Delegate, were in Amman from 23 to 24 September to carry out a site visit ahead of next year’s 37th IAAF World Cross Country Championships, which will be held on 28 March 2009 in the Jordanian capital.
28 September 2008 – Berlin, Germany - Underscoring his stature as the finest distance runner in history, Haile Gebrselassie broke through the Marathon's 2:04 barrier with his jaw-dropping victory at the real,-Berlin Marathon today.
1 October 2008 - New York, USA - World record holder Paula Radcliffe will return to the streets of New York to defend her title at the ING New York City Marathon 2008 on Sunday 2 November.
28 September 2008 – Turin, Italy - Kenyans Elija Tarus Meli and Mercy Kibarus took the honours at the ninth edition of the Turin Half Marathon held in ideal weather conditions.
29 September 2008 – Berlin, Germany - The 35th edition of the real,- Berlin Marathon did produce a number of records and a whole lot of personal bests. But Haile Gebrselassie sees a much bigger picture which athletics has achieved this year.
28 September 2008 - Lisbon, Portugal - Against all predictions, Kenyan Silas Sang took top honours at the RTP Portugal Half Marathon with a course record of 1:01:26. Rita Jeptoo also set a course record in the women’s race to finish a Kenyan sweep.
26 September 2008 – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - The list of honours Ethiopian runner Tirunesh Dibaba has earned in her short, but illustrious career already has many of her rivals running for minor positions when they line up against the double Olympic 5000m/10,000m champion.
1 October 2008 - Paris, France - The GDF SUEZ group announced today that it is ending its 10 year partnership with the AF Golden League Meeting in Paris St Denis. This relationship has been historically significant, especially in recent years, when the company had been the event’s title sponsor.
28 September 2008 - Berlin, Germany - Haile Gebrselassie and Irina Mikitenko delivered fascinating and thrilling performances at the 35th real,- Berlin Marathon in front of an enthusiastic crowd of at least one million people in the German capital this morning.
30 September 2008 - Monte-Carlo - Eritrea’s Zersenay Tadese and Lornah Kiplagat of the Netherlands have won the men’s and women’s World Road Running Championship titles in the last two years. While the name of this IAAF World Athletics Series competition has this year reverted back to its previous title of the World Half Marathon Championships, these two runners will be the defending champions in all but name in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, on Sunday 12 October 2008.
